Younan Nowzaradan,
M.D., F.A.C.S., has been serving patients with
compassion for over 30 years. As a general and vascular
surgeon he was the first doctor in Houston to adopt the
benefits of laparoscopic surgery. He received his medical
degree from University of Tehran, Iran in 1970 and completed
his surgical residency training at St. Thomas Hospital in
Nashville, Tennessee. He also completed his Cardiovascular
Fellowship at the Texas Heart Institute in Houston, Texas.
He has published many scientific papers in the area of
laparoscopic surgery and he accepts referrals on the most
challenging weight reduction surgical candidates who have
been previously denied by other surgical centers, especially
the super morbidly obese (over 600 lbs.). He performs
revisions of unsuccessful previous weight reduction surgery.
Dr. Nowzaradan has performed
over 1000 bariatric procedures. |

Dr. Dexter Turnquest is
a board certified General and Bariatric Surgeon who has
practiced in the Northwest Houston area for over 14 years.
Dr. Turnquest is known for his dedication to his patients
and excellent surgical skill. He has been honored by Texas
Monthly Magazine in its Top Doctors in Texas listing for the
past four consecutive years (peer nominated), in H
Magazine's Top Doctors in Houston as well as many additional
honors.
He has served as Chairman of surgical department, Chief
of Staff and currently is the Chairman of the Board of
Trustees as well as the Medical Director of the Weight Loss
Program at Houston Northwest Medical Center Hospital. He is
past President of the North Branch of the Harris County
Medical Society and has served on the board of the Harris
County Medical Society as well as the Houston Academy of
Medicine. Dr. Turnquest is actively involved with The Texas
Medical Association and serves on the Trauma and EMS
committee of the TMA.
Dr. Turnquest obtained his medical degree at The
University of South Florida College of Medicine, Tampa,
Florida and completed his surgical training at the
University of Texas Health Science Center - Houston (1995).
He is board certified (1996) and recertified (2006) by the
American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American
College of Surgeon and of The American Society for Bariatric
and Metabolic Surgery.
His interest include general and minimally invasive surgery,
weight loss surgery, cancer, and antireflux surgery. |
